Meet Asher and Taly from Innovopro, one of the FoodTech 500 winners
An interview with Ascher Shmulowitz and Taly Nechushtan, the founders of Innovopro, one of Forward Fooding’s top 500 Food Tech startups.
It’s time to put a face to the name…
We asked our FoodTech500 top-runners to give us a bit of insight into how they started out as a company and their thoughts on the role of technology in Food innovation. Meet Asher and Taly, the founding duo behind Innovopro, a leading plant-based protein ingredient developer. Let’s see what they had to say.
So tell us a little bit more about you! Where did the idea for your FoodTech company come from?
Taly: Dr. Ascher Shmulewitz, a physician and an engineer, and our CEO, was fascinated by the idea that food could prevent and cure diseases. Wanting to bring health and wellness to his patients, he studied the chickpea, which is today considered by consumers as a superfood that is not listed as an allergen. In his work, Dr. Shmulewitz developed the technology to extract a unique plant based protein from the chickpea. We are pleased and proud to present this protein for use in clean label food for the health of the global market.
How is tech central to your business?
Asher and Taly: Innovation and food technology are the core of our business. InnovoPro was awarded a “Seal of Excellence” by the European Commission, as the institution managing Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2014-2020.
Why do you think it’s important to see the food industry embrace tech?
Asher and Taly: Technology is increasingly contributing to our food’s journey from farm to fork. Our vision is to enable the creation of tasty plant-based food solutions, to inspire healthier future generations worldwide.
