BLUU SEAFOOD | Partners with German food industry veteran VAN HEES to develop hybrid products combining plant-based ingredients with cultured fish cells. VAN HEES will apply its knowledge in food safety, texture, and flavor optimization to enhance product quality, utilizing its partnership with flavor technology provider Aromatech and its Food.PreTECT center to ensure product stability and shelf life for these sustainable seafood alternatives. MULTUS BIOTECHNOLOGY | Unveils Proliferum P, the first commercially available animal-component-free media formulation for porcine adipose-derived stem cells, which are valuable for both food production and regenerative medicine applications. The serum replacement matches or outperforms the functionality of fetal bovine serum without the ethical concerns, contamination risks, and high costs associated with animal-derived products. MOOLEC SCIENCE | Secures US patent for its Piggy Sooy™ technology, which produces more than 20% animal protein content in the total soluble protein fraction while delivering significant environmental benefits compared to traditional meat production. Read more

PLANET A FOODS | Partners with Japan’s largest retailer, Aeon, to launch its first Asian product featuring ChoViva cocoa-free chocolate. Read more 

ALL G | Receives precision fermentation technology for dairy protein production from The University of Queensland’s Food and Beverage Accelerator. The team spent months refining the “recipe” to ensure consistent performance under real-world manufacturing conditions, optimizing pH, oxygen, and nutrient levels to create dairy ingredients suitable for food supplements and other applications. PIVOT BIO | Partners with Taranis to expand access to USDA Conservation Stewardship Program and Environmental Quality Incentives Program funding by supporting the adoption of PROVEN® 40 for Corn, a microbial nitrogen solution that replaces synthetic nitrogen applications. Read more

KERN TEC | Partners with Swiss chocolate maker Stella to launch limited edition vegan chocolate bar ApriCoa, made with apricot kernel milk and crunchy kernel pieces. Read more

CAULDRON, PHAGOS & SHIRU | Are among the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Technology Pioneers. The selected startups will participate in a two-year engagement program and contribute to Forum initiatives. Read more

Meanwhile, Shiru also invites food companies to leverage its new GLP-1 Innovation Alliance, an industry consortium designed for CPG companies and emerging brands to collaborate on exploring natural proteins and peptides that bind to receptors associated with appetite regulation and metabolism. NOTCO | Partners with snack giant Doritos to launch the Flamin’ Hot Not Chicken Nuggets and nacho-cheese-infused NotMayo Doritos, made from ingredients like pea and bean protein, as well as soybean and sunflower oils. Read more

AVANT | Earns C-Label certification for its cell-cultured peptide, Zellulin® ZelluGEN™, which offers a cruelty-free and sustainable alternative to peptides traditionally sourced from animals. Read more

LIBRE FOODS & PLANETARY | The former sells its brand, IP, and key assets to the latter. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Planetary’s product offerings and enhance its ability to integrate AI-led ingredient discovery with commercial-scale biomanufacturing. Read more 

PLAN(E)T FOODS | raises €1.05M in funding from SPOROS Platform, set to propel its expansion into other European countries, as well as boost its product development strategy. Read more

THIMUS | Partners with US food innovators Alamance Foods and Savor to develop a carbon-neutral whipped cream prototype, combining Alamance’s R&D expertise, Savor’s unique gas-based fat technology, and Thimus’ neuroscience-backed sensory evaluation to create a palm oil-free alternative that appeals to consumers. AGROSUSTAIN, FA BIO, CROBIO, CELLESTE BIO, CLEAN FOOD GROUP, IMAGINDAIRY, PFX BIOTECH, ADAMO FOODS & PROTEINDISTILLERY | Have been selected for the 2025 EIT RisingFoodStars cohort, as they are well-positioned to address pressing issues within the EU, including persistent food inflation, the vulnerability of key commodity supplies to climate change, and the slow reduction of agricultural emissions. RIVAL FOODS | closes an $11.5M Series B funding round, led by APG, to double the production capacity at its Netherlands facility and scale its proprietary manufacturing technology, as well as expand its team and facilitate international growth within the restaurant and foodservice sectors. HOXTON FARMS | Partners with Japanese chemicals giant Mitsui Chemicals to accelerate biomanufacturing across food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and sustainable materials, by incorporating the latter’s specialty polymers into its bioreactors to enhance cost of goods sold, yield, and manufacturability, aiming for large-scale commercial production of cultivated fat. VOW | Receives approval from Food Standards Australia and New Zealand to sell its cultured Japanese quail under the Forged brand, debuting at dozens of high-end restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney. Read more 

PLANTED | Opens a state-of-the-art production facility in Bavaria, which uses advanced fermentation technology to produce biostructured proteins, with the capacity to manufacture over 20 tonnes per day mid-term. Read more 

MEATI | Will be acquired by infomercial executive Yasir Abdul, as the company navigates bankruptcy alternatives. Abdul is working with Wild Earth CEO Ryan Bethencourt during the transition to stabilize operations at Meati’s facility in Thornton, Colorado. Read more 

MAGIC VALLEY | Seeks institutional capital to complete its $3M funding round and build a production facility with an estimated cost of $5M for a small-scale operation producing 500 tonnes annually. Read more

JUICY MARBLES & REVO FOODS | Collaborates to create “Kinda Cod,” a raw, flaky plant-based cod alternative, enriched with microalgae oil to provide 212g of DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids per serving, along with substantial amounts of vitamins B12, B6, folate, and fiber. Read more

ROHLIK | Launches Veloq to commercialize the proprietary technology that powers its operations, providing a unified solution for automated grocery fulfillment, integrating picking, routing, inventory forecasting, and customer engagement into a single, modular system. Read more

BENSON HILL | Its assets have been acquired from Chapter 11 bankruptcy by Confluence Genetics, which is backed by experienced agribusiness investors, including Expedition Ag Partners and S2G Investments. Read more
