TASTEWISE | Announced a $50 million Series B fundraising round to further develop its AI-powered platform for the food and beverage industry. Read more

ROOTWAVE | Secured $15 million to expand its chemical-free, autonomous weeding platform, which uses electricity to kill weeds, into Europe and the US. Read more

PFX BIOTECH | The Portuguese precision fermentation startup raised €5 million to scale up the production of its human milk proteins, including lactoferrin. Read more

GOURMEY | The French cultivated meat company has joined the APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA) to collaborate on advancing the cellular agriculture field in the Asia-Pacific region. Read more

Gourmey has also achieved a production cost of $3.43 per pound for its lab-grown foie gras, a figure validated by the consulting firm Arthur D. Little. This was made possible by their second-generation production platform, which utilizes 5,000-liter bioreactors and food-grade processes. Read more

BIOCRAFT PET NUTRITION | A carbon footprint analysis showed that its cultivated meat generates 92% fewer emissions than conventional beef byproducts used in pet food. Read more

ZEST (f.k.a Wonki Collective) | Is part of a pilot program with Nestlé and FareShare that uses an AI solution to facilitate the redistribution of surplus confectionery, with an initial goal of redistributing 700 tonnes. Read more

ARKEON | The Austrian startup, which developed technology to convert CO2 into protein, has filed for insolvency. Read more

MAGIC VALLEY | The Australian cultivated meat company held a tasting event for lawmakers at the nation’s Parliament to showcase the future of food and engage with policymakers. Read more

E-FISHIENT PROTEIN | Has developed a plant-based grouper fillet prototype as a bridging solution while it advances its cultivated seafood technology. The company aims to create a cultivated grouper fillet combining real fish cells with their technology. Read more

MEATLY | Reduced its bioreactor costs by 95% and significantly lowering the cost of its production medium. The company plans to build multiple 20,000-liter bioreactors to scale up production of its cultivated chicken ingredient for the pet food market. Read more

DREAMFARM | The Italian vegan cheesemaker launched a creative marketing campaign in Milan where they staged a scene of cows “going on vacation,” suggesting they can rest thanks to the company’s plant-based cheese alternatives. Read more

UPSIDE FOODS | Protested Indiana’s upcoming ban on cultivated meat by serving cell-cultivated chicken sandwiches at the Indianapolis 500. The company is also legally challenging a similar ban in Florida. Read more

PLENTY | Has successfully emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a new, exclusive focus on strawberry production. With backing from investors, the company has resumed construction on its vertical strawberry farm in Virginia and is expanding its growing capacity. Read more

MILLOW | Is establishing a large-scale factory in Sweden to produce up to 500kg of its “beef-like” protein daily. The company uses a minimal processing method of dry-state fermentation with oats and mycelium. Read more

MELIBIO | The bee-free honey startup has been acquired by FoodYoung Labs, a Swiss innovation hub. The acquisition includes MeliBio’s consumer brand, Mellody, and its plant-based honey technology. Read more

OSHI | Has launched direct-to-consumer online sales of its plant-based salmon alternative, which was previously only available through foodservice channels. Read more

VOLARE | Raised €26 million to build a new insect protein factory in Finland. The facility will use black soldier fly larvae to convert food industry byproducts into 5,000 tons of protein annually. Read more
