Last week we had the great honour to exhibit at Unbound London, Europe’s largest and most exciting innovation festival. The event was held on July 18th and 19th at Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch (London). More than 5,000 founders, entrepreneurs, investors and corporate executives came together to meet with Europe’s most disruptive startups to forge partnerships and come to the grips with the latest tech innovations.

We have been invited to Unbound to showcase our collaborative platform (Forward Fooding) as well as to present the second version of The Global Food Tech Map, our latest interactive tool that helps intended users to discover more than 1,200+ AgriFoodTech startups (innovating from farm-to-fork) and allows them to directly engage with these companies by requesting an introduction or adding them to their favourite list. Last but not least, we also were pleased to share with the Tech community our most recent endeavour: the launch of London’s first Food and Foodtech Innovation Hub, which we officially unveiled last month in partnership with HUCKLETREE.

Highlights of the events include the panel discussion: ‘Hungry for Innovation: Imagining the Future of Food’ Panel featuring speakers such as Alon Cohen (Tastewise), Eyal Jagermann (The Barbary), Jamie Spafford (SORTEDfood), Katy Askew (Food Navigator) and Lisa Sweet (World Economic Forum). The panelists discussed a wide range of topics including how emerging startup developments like lab-grown meat and food 3D printing have the potential to drive significant ‘disruption’ across the food supply chain.

We met many great companies and heard quite a few inspiring stories of fellow founders but our favorite startup (Disclaimer: we’re big fan of foodtech and we tend to get quite excited about this type of companies) was Candy Mechanics, whicc are partnering with chocolate brands to bring 3D personalised chocolate gifts to market (cfr picture below with Godiva).
