Venitin Foods — Vegan Catering For Every Occassion
The number of vegans in Britain has doubled twice in the past four years; with the ever-growing consumer demand, the food industry is adapting and growing to incorporate the wider variety of customer needs. Part of this change? Venitin Foods, a vegan catering business who do just about everything under the sun to improve the accessibility of vegan meals.
What does Venitin Foods do?
Venitin Foods is the business to choose when you are looking for delicious vegan food for your event, to learn how to make vegan food in West Midlands, or want catered handmade and homemade Vegan food. From sandwich platters, to savoury rolls…from cakes to desserts…we do a wide range of bespoke vegan catering for private functions. All of our food is 100% home made, plant-based, palm oil free…and of course, vegan!
Why did you decide to start Venitin Foods?
My son was gluten intolerant when he was born, and I quickly learnt that trying to make gluten intolerant food was a challenge. I also had younger extended family members who were allergic to milk, eggs, dairy…the demand for free from foods suddenly became a problem my family were tackling. I knew that if we were struggling, there must be thousands of other families out there, also looking for a solution. And so, the idea for Venitin Foods was born!
What was the journey like at the beginning?
My background is in finance; while I’d always had a passion for cooking and baking, this was an entirely unknown field to me. Questions just keep coming up. Where should I start? Who will help me? How will I finance this? How do I juggle everything? What about marketing? How do I find customers?
How did you answer those questions?
I think everything is revealed with time — I think, looking back, those questions were holding me back, and I should have just gone for it! You only live once!
What’s something you’re most proud of?
Satisfied customers. When I’ve been working really hard to make amazing vegan food for someone’s special event of business, and they love it and keep coming back, it’s a truly proud moment. It validates the whole journey for me, and I love it!
