Meet Björn, Ronny and André from SimplyDelivery GmbH, one of the FoodTech 500 winners
An interview with Björn Wisnewski, Ronny Rohland, André Wenzel, founders of SimplyDelivery GmbH, one of Forward Fooding’s top 500 Food Tech startups.

It’s time to put a face to the name…
We asked our FoodTech 500 top-runners to give us a bit of insight into how they started out as a company and their thoughts on the role of technology in Food innovation. Meet Björn, Ronny and André, the powerhouse behind SimplyDelivery GmbH, an all-encompassing management software for the food delivery & restaurant business, whether you serve pizza, sushi or burgers. SimplyDelivery gives its customers all the tools they need to run a successful restaurant business, from cash register systems to their own webshop. Let’s see what the founders had to say.
So tell us a little bit more about you! Where did the idea for your FoodTech company come from?
Björn, Ronny and André: Our first customer in the delivery market – Burgerme – booked us to define and implement marketing measures to address their customers. While cooperating on these issues we discussed their electronic POS System and other software components they needed and decided to create an all-encompassing system, which would be specially designed for the specific requirements of delivery services and franchise systems.
Since that moment we worked with full manpower & evolving knowledge to create a full management system for the delivery market with its special requirements. At this moment we are the most efficient and extensive management system for food delivery services on the market.
How is tech central to your business?
Björn, Ronny and André: Tech is highly necessary to make processes faster and therefore provides a more efficient business.
Tech is sustainable – thanks to several modular solutions we can save a lot of paper in the delivery business.
Tech is fast – our system is working almost device-independent and cloud-based – therefore we can supply our customers everywhere and at every time.
Through the use of our technology, we help gastronomers around the world work efficiently in a business that gets more and more complex every year.
Why do you think it’s important to see the food industry embrace tech?
Björn, Ronny and André: Especially in a business like food delivery our customers need to work cost-effectively. This is only feasible with automated workflows and helpful statistics and forecasts. Gastronomers need to minimize their cost of sales, avoid unnecessary tours and therefore save natural resources. Moreover, some business models like ghost kitchens can only exist because of technical development in the past years.
Not only tech is important for our customers, but also for their customers. Easy & fast processes are one of the most important selling points to generate more orders.
And thanks to artificial intelligence it is now possible to meet the requirements of customers and potential customers.
