OCEAN TWIST BIOTECHNOLOGY | Ittinsect has rebranded to Ocean Twist Biotechnology, reflecting its growth into a biotech-driven circular protein company. The rebrand supports the company’s mission to deliver sustainable, high-performance protein solutions for aquaculture and animal feed, reducing reliance on traditional ingredients like fishmeal and soy. CLEAN FOOD GROUP | UK biotech company Clean Food Group partners with cosmetics manufacturer THG LABS to create revolutionary raw materials from transformed food waste. Their first project is to develop a low-impact, high-performance oil for beauty and personal care products. Read more
NUKOKO | German food manufacturer Döhler has invested in UK startup Nukoko, which is developing cocoa-free chocolate made from fava beans. It plans to launch its bean-to-bar chocolate in 2025, with Döhler helping to scale up production. Read more
UOBO | Barcelona-based food tech startup has raised €500,000 in seed funding to advance its mission of providing egg alternatives for food manufacturers. It has also teamed up with Cubiq Foods, a startup specializing in plant-based ingredients, to create an egg-free product for large-scale manufacturers. Read more
PHYTECH | Orbia Netafim, a global leader in precision irrigation, has joined forces with agtech pioneer Phytech to drive advancements in digital farming. The partnership aims to boost crop yields while minimizing water waste through innovative, data-driven farming technologies. Read more
UMAMI BIOWORKS | Singapore-based FoodTech company partners with KCell Biosciences and WSG to create a scalable production pipeline for cultivated fish in South Korea. This initiative could lead to the first cultivated food production facility in South Korea. Read more
X-FARM TECHNOLOGIES | Swiss AgTech startup, which focuses on the digitalisation of the agrifood sector, has landed €36 million in Series C funding. The new capital will enable xFarm to consolidate its leadership in Europe and expand its operations across LATAM, India, Turkey, and the US. Read more
FARMWISE | The US-based smart farming company has partnered with RDO Equipment to expand the reach of its AI-driven precision weeding solution, Vulcan. The collaboration aims to introduce FarmWise’s innovative technology to vegetable farmers across the Southwestern U.S. Read more
LA VIE | Paris-based plant-based meat startup has raised €25M to expand its presence and brand awareness in France and the UK. The company also launched its new vegan meatballs, which will be available at major retailers from October 28. Read more
THE EVERY COMPANY | San Francisco-based The EVERY Company secured a patent for its precision fermentation-derived ovalbumin, the key protein in its animal-free ingredients, allowing it to be used in many food products like baked goods, meat analogs, and ice cream. Read more
REVO FOODS | Opened the world’s largest 3D-printed food factory, which can produce up to 60 tonnes of product each month. Its first release is an updated whole-cut mycelium-based salmon fillet. Read more
HEURA | Spanish plant-based food company Heura Foods is expanding beyond plant-based meats into nutrient-dense cold cuts, cheeses, and pasta to move away from the ultra-processed food (UPF) label. Read more
KINOKO-TECH | Partners with Metaphor Foods to commercialize a range of innovative fungi-based products in Australia by 2025. The collaboration aims to produce large-scale quantities of mycelium protein using food industry sidestreams. Read more
BIOTALYS | Announced the expansion of its R&D pipeline with a new biofungicide program aimed at developing sustainable crop protection solutions to combat fungal diseases that pose significant threats to global food security. Read more // Announced that it obtained patents for its first biofungicide, EVOCA™*, from both the European Patent Office (EPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Read more
THE RAGING PIG CO | Announced a new wave of funding to fuel the expansion of its plant-based pork product offerings. A significant portion of the investment will also be directed towards developing and launching a new mycelium-based meat product. Read more
HELAINA | Raised $45M in Series B funding to commercialize its Effera Human Lactoferrin, a protein alternative to breast milk. The company plans to launch Effera in the US market later this year through collaborations with brands such as Kroma Wellness and Mitsubishi International Food Ingredients. Read more
REBELLYOUS FOODS | In partnership with RMS Foods, Rebellyous Foods has launched its Mock 2 production system, a fully automated production system capable of producing 2,500-5,000 pounds of plant-based meat per hour. Read more
NOTPLA | UK-based seaweed packaging startup Notpla secured a £20M Series A extension to expand its operations into the US, replace 100 million single-use plastic items by 2026, and diversify its sustainable product offerings to meet growing global demand. Read more
PAIRWISE | Announced a $40M funding round and a partnership with Corteva to enhance gene-editing efforts aimed at improving crop resilience amid climate change and extreme weather conditions. Read more
STANDING OVATION | Raised €3.75M in Series A+ funding to support its growth and prepare for the 2025 U.S. launch of its animal-free protein ingredient, Advanced Casein. It also appoints Yvan Chardonnens as its new CEO. Read more
MATR FOODS | Danish startup Matr Foods secured a €20M loan from the European Investment Bank to support the construction of its first large-scale factory, which could produce over 3,000 tonnes of mycelium meat annually by 2026. Read more
NOVAMEAT | Spain’s Novameat has successfully closed a €17.4M Series A funding round, which it plans to use to expand its market presence, scale production, and introduce new products, starting with an enhanced version of its Shredded Nova-b*ef. Read more
