Partnership announcement: EIT Food Entrepreneurship
Forward Fooding are proud to announce their partnership with EIT Food for their 2018 Entrepreneurship Prize competition.
As you may know, in the past few years we have been trying to form strategic partnerships with a number of like-minded organizations committed to contributing to creating a brighter future for the food industry. The more we grow this network, the stronger and more vibrant it becomes. This can also be said for the number of partners that have decided to participate in The Global FoodTech Map’s network. In light of this, we are pleased to announce the first of many partnerships we plan to share with our community: EIT Food Entrepreneurship Prize (Innovation Grants Scheme)
What’s EIT Food?
EIT Food is Europe’s leading food innovation initiative, with the aim to create a sustainable and future-proof food sector.
The initiative is made up of a consortium of key industry players, start-ups, research centers and universities from across Europe. It is one of six Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) established by the European Institute for Innovation & Technology (EIT), an independent EU body set up in 2008 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.
EIT Food aims to collaborate closely with entrepreneurs, innovators, and consumers to develop new knowledge and technology-based products and services that will ultimately deliver a healthier lifestyle for all European citizens.
Why an Entrepreneurship Prize to support food innovators?
The Entrepreneur Prize rewards aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage, pre-revenue start-ups who have a revolutionary new business idea, product or service that can help EIT food in its mission. There are three €10,000 Entrepreneurship Prizes available to any resident, citizen or legal entity based in Europe or EIT Food associated countries.

How will the partnership work together?
As we build the largest community of food innovators in the world we are thrilled to support EIT Food reach as many aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators and makers with promising ideas that could transform the food and agriculture sectors. Along with connecting EIT Food with our start-up community, we will be running and delivering an engaging pitch day for up to 8 selected applicants to showcase their ideas and potentially win 10,000 euro each. In addition to the prize money, the best idea, as determined by our panel of experts, will receive 3-months of one-on-one mentorship support from Forward Fooding.
This partnership will help further strengthen our respective startup networks in Europe and support wanna-be entrepreneurs who have a great idea and the will to put themselves out there to succeed while empowering our community of entrepreneurs to become even more successful.
