Ciao Milan’s first Food & FoodTech Innovation Hub!
According to our FoodTech Data Navigator database, Italy ranks 4th in Europe by a number of AgriFoodTech startups but only 10th in terms of capital invested and 14th for startups per capita across all sectors.
The funding raised by AgriFoodTech companies in the country has been growing constantly since 2013. But in definite terms, it shows a median round amount of €324,755 compared to the €1,505,000 of the rest of Europe.
Yet, although Italy still lacks the weight other countries have in the industry, we see bright signals for the future of AgriFoodTech in Italy.
To that matter, we have taken some initiatives to boost the Italian ecosystem and accelerate its growth.
Welcome to Milan’s first Food & FoodTech Innovation Hub
After pioneering in London in 2018 and Barcelona in 2020, we have chosen Milan as a new hub to fuel the growth of the Italian AgriFoodTech ecosystem, in partnership with Talent Garden.
Hosted at Talent Garden Isola in the heart of Milan, the Food & Food Tech Innovation Hub is Italy’s first shared workspace dedicated to the most avant-garde food and Food Tech companies.
Milan’s hub is the ideal destination for startups and scaleups looking to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and it’s the go-to place where collaborations between established organizations and startup companies spark.

AgriFoodTech Ecosystem Map
Showcasing its 250+ startup and scaleup companies, the Italian FoodTech Ecosystem map is a useful tool to visualize the rise and diversity of AgriFoodTech innovations within the country. We are also mapping out all the ecosystem supporters, accelerators and investors that are contributing to fostering FoodTech innovation in Italy, and their number is growing! Another sign that Italy is on its way to taking a more prominent position on the global FoodTech map.
